I met with San Miguel over oysters, shrimp, and Tecate at Perla's happy hour
I just interviewed Roberto San Miguel, advocate for the Gulf and owner of San Miguel Seafood. Right now, he wholesales to some of the best fish in town, but he will be opening up a sustainable seafood shop and restaurant within a larger artisanal market on Austin's eastside! (can't give out any more details until their official press release in September.. but stay tuned!) Whatever you do, don't get on his bad side. He is the self-proclaimed Fish Nazi-- and believe you me, you do NOT want to miss out on the amazing selection of fish he hauls back from the coast each week.
