ghosts and politics prevail at the historic Driskill Hotel

Whenever guests come to town to visit, The Driskill Hotel is a must-see. Even if they don't stay there, I insist on at least walking them through the grandiose foyer, lounging fireside with a cocktail, and recycling ghostly tales I've been told. This Austin landmark was built in 1886 by cattle baron Jesse Driskill and almost immediately became a political hub.

I recently visited and gathered some information on the hotel for Forbes Travel Guide. Click here for the rundown, and get booking!
