Some people go to strip clubs for the food, right? (Perhaps the same people who read Playboy for its titillating articles??) While it's common to see marquees boasting terrifyingly cheap food specials ($4.99 steak and shrimp! $10 lobster! Free happy hour buffet!), I'd never heard much about the food at gentlemen's lounges," even after an informal poll of male friends. So I did what any curious journalist would do-- I set out to investigate.
Luckily, I had some accomplices to investigate with me, such as fellow Thrillist writer Anastacia (above, mesmerized by the entertainment and frozen with brisket quesadilla in hand) and my fearless vegan friend, Jen who found the chef at Palazio to be amazingly accommodating to her dietary needs!
We also met some interesting characters along the way, such as the gentleman above, who's quite a regular at Sugar's--- he even went home to change (!?) and returned in aNOTHER saucy T-shirt. Just thought you guys might appreciate a couple behind-the-scenes details I didn't include in the article itself..
