About Me

I'm a freelance writer and photographer, mad kitchen scientist, ambassador of fun, equal opportunity eater, dog-mom, cat lady, road-trip enthusiast, and Jersey girl at heart..all in the sun-drenched capital of Texas.

I studied writing, photography and sociology at Sarah Lawrence College in New York before traveling the country and landing in Austin, Texas, where I specialize in food, beverage, travel and lifestyle features. I've been writing for both digital and print publications since 2005, and my work has appeared in Forbes Travel Guide, Food & Wine, Travel & Leisure, Afar, PUNCH, The Local Palate, Salt & Wind, Serious Eats, GOOD, The Today Show, FWx, Tasting Table, Texas Highways, Austin Monthly, The Austin-American Statesman, The Austin Chronicle, Thrillist, TimeOut Austin, CultureMap Austin, Edible Austin, Austin Woman and more.

I recently published my first book, a cookbook all about fish sauce and its many delicious uses. It features recipes from incredibly talented chefs like Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern, Top Chef Season 12 winner Mei Lin, Stephanie IzardStuart Brioza, Linton Hopkins, Michelle Bernstein, Jasper White, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo... and many more! (Even one recipe by yours truly!) Published by Andrews McMeel Publishing this past fall, find it in your local bookstore or right here on Amazon.
